Movie Morsels: Lots of New ANT-MAN Photos, Potential STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Spoiler

Ant-Man is quickly shaping up to be the “Little Marvel Movie That Could” judging by a slew of new photos from the film. Also in today’s Movie Morsels: Carrie Fisher may have spoiled just a teensy bit of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World gets yet another featurette, Terminator Genisys gets a new clip, and more!

Ant-Man

Marvel has released quite a few new hi-res images from its upcoming Ant-Man. We’ve seen a few of these before in lower-res form, but there are a bunch of never-before-seen photos as well. Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Evangeline Lily, arrives on July 17th.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Okay, if you want to avoid any and all The Force Awakens spoilers, jump to the next morsel now. Seriously! There’s a nice Jurassic World featurette waiting for you there. The rest of you, come with me…

Still with us? Alright then. Now this is admittedly not a very big spoiler, and more like a “no duh” for those who’ve followed the expanded universe for the last several decades… While attending a comic convention last weekend, Carrie Fisher signed an autograph for one fan in such a way as to offer what looks like confirmation of Princess Leia’s martial status in the next Star Wars movie.

Jurassic World

This week we learned that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow will not be returning for any additional Jurassic Park sequels, and now Universal has released a featurette showing filmgoers just what they’ll be missing once Trevorrow departs. This latest look at the June 12th release focuses on the filmmaker’s “new vision” for Steven Spielberg’s dino-mite franchise…

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help, Spider-Man 3), Ty Simpkins (Insidious, Iron Man 3), Jake Johnson (Let’s Be Cops, New Girl), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, Law & Order: Criminal Intent), BD Wong (Jurassic Park, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Intouchables), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Tomorrowland), Katie McGrath (NBC’s Dracula, Merlin), Lauren Lapkus (Blended, The To Do List) and Andy Buckley (Bridesmaids, The Other Guys).

Terminator Genisys

Paramount has just released a new clip from the fifth Terminator film, due out on July 1st, featuring its faithful old T-800 “Guardian” restating his concern for human life. Thor: The Dark World‘s Alan Taylor directs Terminator Genisys, also starring Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as her very own T-800. J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matt Smith, Courtney B. Vance and Byung-Hun Lee co-star.

The Little Mermaid

Hey, remember last year when we told you that Sofia Coppola would be helming a live-action adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s short tale “The Little Mermaid”? Yeah? Well, that’s no longer happening. The director has exited the project, citing the usual reason for such departures: “creative differences.” Meanwhile, Edwards Scissorhands screenwriter Caroline Thompson is rewriting the script’s latest draft from Fifty Shades of Grey scribe Kelly Marcel.
