Hey, kids! How much action, adventure, and morselin’ are you lookin’ for?! (With apologies to Stan Lee.) Because today’s Movie Morsels is jam-packed with superhero excitement, including the latest on Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse, as well as word on the third (!) Guardians of the Galaxy film. All this plus Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Iron Giant, and Ghostbusters!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Yes, you read that correctly. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 shooting now, a third film in the Marvel franchise is already being discussed. And James Gunn has stated in his latest fan-friendly Facebook fireside chat that Marvel has already reached out to him about it…
âRight now,” says the filmmaker, “I really am just concerned with doing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Iâm not sure what Iâm going to do after this⦠Marvel has talked to me about continuing on. Iâm not sure if thatâs what I want to do or if thatâs not what I want to do. I really just want to make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the greatest possible movie that I can, and something thatâs as honest and sincere and true as it can possibly be.â
Captain America: Civil War
Meanwhile, back in this corner of the Marvel Universe (a.k.a. Earth), MTV has announced that Chris Evans will present a brand new clip from his Captain America: Civil War at the MTV Movie Awards. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart host the ceremony, airing Sunday, April 10 at 8 PM EST.
And in other Civil War news, Hot Toys has unveiled images of its new Falcon figure from the movie, complete with his new robotic Redwing!

X-Men: Apocalypse
Elsewhere, Fox’s latest Marvel film, X-Men: Apocalypse, has itself a new international trailer, showcasing the titular mutant menace’s origin. Gotta admit that I get a little shiver upon hearing Jennifer Lawrence exclaim, “You’re not students anymore. You’re X-Men.”

Alice Through the Looking Glass
Speaking of trailers, Facebook has gifted fans with a new one for Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, featuring Alice undergoing a therapy session to treat her “delusional” memories of Wonderland. Unfortunately, because Facebook doesn’t like us all that much, we can’t embed said trailer. So you’ll have to check it out here.

The Iron Giant
Warner Bros. has finally released some details on the long-awaited Blu-ray edition of director Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant. It turns out that on September 6, fans will be able to choose between two versions of the animated favorite. The first, the standard release, will include the new Signature Edition of the film as well as the original theatrical version. This release will sell for just $14.97, and include a new documentary, The Giantâs Dream. (Billed as the “definitive look at the making of The Iron Giant,” it debuted at last weekend’s WonderCon in LA.) The second edition will be the Ultimate Collectors Edition and include both versions, the documentary, a hardcover book, collectible Mondo art cards, a four-inch plastic Iron Giant statue, and a letter from Bird.
Says the filmmaker, âWeâre tremendously gratified by the ever-growing status of The Iron Giant which was a labor of love for those of us who made it. It seems like a perfect time to give the filmâs large and expanding fan-base the deluxe Blu-ray theyâve long been asking for.â
