Movie Morsels: Hear STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS’ Kylo Ren and Finn Speak for the First Time

It’s Force Friday, movie fans! But before you head out to the toy stores today, here’s one last Movie Morsels for this week… Thanks to a ton of new Star Wars: The Force Awakens merch that’s just arrived, we’re getting a better look at, and listen to, some of the film’s characters, including the mysterious Kylo Ren, and we now know what lurks beneath his hood, as well as what he sounds like. Plus, The Rock gives us an update on Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s Batmobile is now available for all to see in person, Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s gag reel has just landed online, and more.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

With all the attention paid to BB-8 this week, The Force Awakens‘ Big Bad has been somewhat overlooked. But we now have our first ever images of Kylo Ren sans his hood (in action figure form) and it turns out that this acolyte of the Dark Side’s helmet looks a lot like, well, Darth Vader’s! Is it molded in Vader’s image? It is the Sith Lord’s actual helmet retooled? Let the speculation grow.

Sideshow has also unveiled the new Kylo Ren figure from Hot Toys:

Kylo Ren

And here, for the first time, is actor Adam Driver speaking as Kylo Ren:

Plus, we finally have a chance to hear Finn talk and it turns out that British actor John Boyega is using an American accent in the film:

Director J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-stars Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. It lands in our galaxy on December 18th.

Jungle Cruise

God, how I love The Rock, the most jovial, gentle giant around and a helluva showman to boot. We’ll soon see if Dwayne Johnson has what it takes to anchor a franchise that Disney is clearly hoping will be its next Pirates of the Caribbean when Samoan Thor stars in a movie based on the studio’s Jungle Cruise theme park ride. Here’s an update from the big guy himself, in which he reveals that the film will be set in the 1920s (the ride itself is set in the ’30s, but what’s a decade?):

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

If you want to get up close and personal with the latest Batmobile, and you’re anywhere near LA in the near future, get yourself over to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Burbank. The Dark Knight’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ride has just arrived on the Warner lot, and it’s ready to greet all visitors (except those who’ve escaped from Arkham Asylum):

Zack Snyder’s sequel to Man of Steel stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Gal Gadot. It opens on March 25, 2016.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Even Earth’s Mightiest Hero’s have a laugh every now and then, as can be seen in the gag reel featurette on the Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-ray, arriving on October 2nd. Take a look:

Braven

Jason Momoa

Though we’re still not sure how much of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman we’ll get to see in Batman v Superman, we’ll have another chance to watch the former Game of Thrones star in action in director Lin Oeding’s thriller Braven, for which he’s just signed on. Here’s the synopsis:

When Joe Braven (Jason Momoa), a humble logger residing along the U.S./Canada border, is confronted by a group of deadly drug runners in his secluded cabin in the mountains, he must do everything in his power to protect his family. Little do the elite drug runners know the unassuming man they’ve encountered has an impressive bite colliding two dynamic forces – one fighting for the lives of his family, the other for the love of the kill.
