We’ve plenty to make your Hump Day brighter in today’s Movie Morsels, including your latest looks at the worlds of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Suicide Squad, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zootopia, and Stephen King. So let’s get Moreselin’!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Director James Gunn has been every Guardians of the Galaxy fan’s best friend since the Marvel megahit was first announced, keeping us up to date on most every stage of production. Fortunately, the filmmaker is again keeping us abreast of things on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, for which Gunn has just released, via Facebook, the first image of the core cast rehearsing. Included are Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and (standing in for Rocket, as he did on the first film) Gunn’s brother Sean. Gunn remarks, “When someone’s screwing up a scene during rehearsals I show them Dave Bautista (Batista) as an example of good acting.”

Suicide Squad
In other rambunctious super-team movie news… The latest TV spots for Warner Bros./DC’s David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad hath landed online. The video breaks down the team’s mission and showcases Jared Leto’s already viral Joker laugh, as well as his eagerness to show off his “toys”…
Opening on August 5, Suicide Squad stars Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, and Scott Eastwood.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
And for more DC Universe goodness… A new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice international trailer has arrived, consisting mainly of footage we’ve seen before but with a cool new edit, as well as a voiceover for audiences in Asia…
Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Gal Gadot all star in the March 25th release.
Zootopia
I’ve only heard 30Â seconds of it, but already I can’t get Shakira’s Zootopia theme “Try Everything” out of my head. Here’s a new clip from the Disney animated film, featuring both the song and officer Judy Hopps’ big arrival in the titular city…
Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, and featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, Zootopia hits theaters everywhere on March 4.

Revival
Last but not least today, we have an update on the film future of America’s most beloved living horror writer Stephen King (pictured above). An adaptation of King’s masterpiece The Stand has long been due on the bug screen, and The Fault in Our Stars helmer director Josh Boone has been determined to direct an adaptation he’s scripted. But we now learn that Boone has put that massive project aside for the time being in order to adapt King’s much more recent and far more easily adapatable novel Revival, about a good preacher gone bad…
âWhen I read Revival,” says Boone. “I was like, man, did you write this for me? Iâd been on both sides of that pendulum. I call myself a non-believer, now, and when I moved to LA, it was like Neo being pulled out of The Matrix. Oh, my god, none of that stuff is true! But it was what Iâd been taught and what I believed in since childhood. I believed in the devil, in Jesus, and even now as a non-believer, Iâm still fascinated by that world and Revival is the scariest thing heâs written since Pet Sematary. He tricks you, drawing you in gently, with that narratorâs voice and a long time span that reminds you of The Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile, and then he pulls that rug from under you in that last act and youâre like, ‘Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into?’… I still intend to make The Stand, but I need more time…”
