Movie Morsels: GHOSTBUSTERS Theme Park Attraction, KUNG FU PANDA 3’s New Pandas

We’ve got word on one of the coolest-sounding theme park attractions we’ve heard of in quite some time in today’s Movie Morsels, in which you get to be one of the stick-slinging scientists in Ghostbusters! Plus, a new Jurassic World featurette, a preview of the new characters in Kung Fu Panda 3, first word on a third Pitch Perfect movie, and a trailer for Emma Watson’s Regression.

Ghostbusters

Six Flags Mexico just became my favorite theme park, because this week it’s launching Los Cazafantasmas: La Aventura Láser. Translation…Ghostbusters: Laser Adventure! According to In Park Magazine, the attraction “has a cast of between six and eight live actors who will play as seasoned ‘Ghostbusters’ to interact with guests across two floors. Players are ‘prepped’ downstairs in the Ghostbusters Headquarters, given their laser ghostbustin’ gear, then led upstairs and broken into teams of Ghostbusters in order to compete against each other in an experience that features iconic environments and characters from the film. There are also cool ghost gates, hidden targets, and ‘surprise characters’ that appear and disappear with the help of UV and lasertag LED technology.” No word yet on if this attraction could make its way to the States. Let’s all cross our fingers…but not those streams!

Jurassic World

Jurassic World (out this Friday, June 12) isn’t just a return to Steven Spielberg’s dino-awesome series for audiences, but for several of the original Jurassic Park‘s crew members as well. Universal has unveiled a new featurette spotlighting these Jurassic vets, including paleontology consultant Jack Horner and effects legend Phil Tippet, who are looking to scare today’s audiences just like they did back in 1993.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help, Spider-Man 3), Ty Simpkins (Insidious, Iron Man 3), Jake Johnson (Let’s Be Cops, New Girl), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, Law & Order: Criminal Intent), BD Wong (Jurassic Park, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Intouchables), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Tomorrowland), Katie McGrath (NBC’s Dracula, Merlin), Lauren Lapkus (Blended, The To Do List) and Andy Buckley (Bridesmaids, The Other Guys).

Pitch Perfect 3

Pitch Perfect 2

So you say Pitch Perfect 2 wasn’t exactly your cup of tea? Not to worry. The Bellas will be back for a third screen outing. Universal is apparently already discussing Pitch Perfect 3 with Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two films in the series. Since stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson’s salaries skyrocketed between films 1 and 2, it remains to be seen if they’ll be back (especially since their characters have now graduated college), though the newest Bella, Hailee Steinfeld, is contracted for a follow-up.
