Movie Morsels: First CRIMSON PEAK International Poster, New EVEREST IMAX Trailer

Actor Tom Hiddleston has just dropped a new international poster for Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak online. “Afternoon all,” says the exquisitely cheekboned star. “Here’s the international poster for #CrimsonPeak. Can’t wait to show it you all finally. Not long now.” Written by Del Toro and Matthew Robbins, and co-starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, and Jim Beaver, Crimson Peak is out on on October 16th.

Everest

We have a new IMAX trailer for Everest from the good folks at Universal. The film, based on a true story about two climbing expedition up the tallest mountain in the world, was shot on location, and arrives in IMAX 3D on September 18th, following on every other screen on September 25th. Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, and Jake Gyllenhaal star for director Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband).

Barbie

Sure she’s been in the Toy Story movies, but if G.I. Joe has had two live-action films then it’s only fair that Barbie gets at least one. Enter Diablo Cody. The screenwriter, with Jenny Bicks (What A Girl Wants, Rio 2), is scripting a film based on the perennial toy favorite for Sony. The film is due out on June 2nd 2017.

It looks like Hannibal star Lawrence Fishburne will join Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Sheen as one of the Passengers in Imitation Game director Morten Tyldum’s spacebound romance about a couple of folks who are prematurely awoken from deep sleep.

Solace

Let’s hear it for Anthony Hopkins! The actor is seventy-seven and still starring in action movies. The latest of which, Solace, features his as a psychic doctor paired with an FBI Agent (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in pursuit of a serial killer (Colin Farrell). Here’s the film’s French trailer. A U.S. release date is still TBD.
