Movie Morsels: DEADPOOL Blu-ray’s Awesome Bonus Features Announced!

It’s the penultimate day of the work week, True Believers! So let’s get ready for this weekend by partying down with today’s Movie Morsels. We’ve got new goodies from your favorite mutant (Deadpool) and non-mutant (Captain America: Civil War) movies today, the latest on Blade Runner 2, and a whole lot more!

Deadpool

Like that of the film’s theatrical release, the marketing for Deadpool‘s home video premiere on May 10 is as irreverent as the Merc with the Mouth himself. Which means you don’t have to listen to me yak about the Blu-ray’s bonus features—here’s Wade Wilson announcing the deets in his own inimitable style…

Captain America: Civil War

Let’s see… we’ve had international as well as domestic Captain America: Civil War trailers, posters… What are we missing? Ah yes, TV spots! Here’s how the film’s marketing campaign looks in Germany, where Cap is still referred to as “The First Avenger” in his franchise’s title…

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl. The film opens in 3D and IMAX 3D in the US on May 6th.

Blade Runner 2

Blade Runner

Good news, Blade Runner fans! The film’s long talked about sequel may not be as much of a trainwreck as we may have feared it could be. Warner Bros., in fact, is so happy with the way things are progressing that it’s moved up the release date for the Ryan Gosling/Harrison Ford/Robin Wright starrer, directed by Denis Villeneuve, from January 2018 to October 6, 2017. Huzzah!

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Wanna watch four not-so-nice people behaving very badly in Hawaii? The red-band trailer for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates has landed, and it is indeed “respectable as f***.” Starring Zac Efron and Adam DeVine as two brothers looking for companionship during a wedding on the sunny island state, the film also features comedic wizards Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza as their infinitely brighter albeit a tad shadier would-be girlfriends. Directed by Jake Szymanski and written by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, the romantic comedy adventure opens on July 8. If the film’s half as funny as the trailer, it should provide a quality comedic break from this summer’s big action blockbusters…

The Girl on the Train

Finally today, we have the first trailer for The Girl on the Train. Based on the the bestselling psychological thriller by Paula Hawkins, it looks like it might be this year’s Gone Girl. Emily Blunt stars as a woman who witnesses a disappearance during her commute, only to become embroiled in a mystery with some surprisingly personal stakes. Directed by Tate Taylor and written by Erin Cressida Wilson, the movie co-stars Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Édgar Ramírez, and Allison Janney. It opens everywhere on October 7.
