Movie Morsels: Daniel Craig Says SPECTRE May Be His Final James Bond Movie

Is Daniel Craig ready to say goodbye to the franchise that made him a superstar? That’s our top story in today’s Movie Morsels. But it’s not all doom and gloom! We’ve also got word that Karen Gillan is joining Tom Hanks and Emma Watson in the The Circle! Plus, a new look at Tom Hiddleston in High-Rise, the international trailer for Chloe Moretz‘s The 5th Wave, and more…

SPECTRE

Would Daniel Craig like to return as 007 after SPECTRE? Having recently completed his work on the Skyfall follow-up, the star is understandably feeling a bit, well, to use the British parlance, knackered… “At this moment, no,” says Craig in a new interview with Esquire. “I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. But we’ll see.”

It’s worth noting that former 007 Roger Moore used to say that each Bond film he did would be his last, primarily to get producer Cubby Broccoli to up his salary for his next appearance. In any case, we’ve got our latest look at Craig and director Sam Mendes’ upcoming superspy thriller with two new images featuring the actor and his latest co-star, Blue Is the Warmest Color‘s Léa Seydoux.

The Circle

Karen Gillan

Though her ABC sitcom Selfie is no more, fan-favorite Doctor Who companion turned intergalactic assassin in Guardians of the Galaxy Karen Gillan is in no way hurting for work. In addition to her upcoming turns in Adam McKay’s The Big Short; Ti West’s western, In The Valley Of Violence; HBO’s period drama, The Devil You Know; and James Gunn’s Guardians, Vol. 2, the Scottish actress has signed on to star with Tom Hanks, Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ John Boyega, and Emma Watson in director James Ponsoldt’s adaptation of Dave Eggers’ novel The Circle. Gillan will play Annie, “a warm, cute, goofy, old-money confident and fiercely intelligent member of The Circle, an internet monopoly that links users’ personal emails, social media, banking and purchasing with their universal operating system.”

High-Rise

Though it’s yet to secure a distributor, director Ben Wheatley’s adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s acclaimed allegorical novel High-Rise will appear at this month’s Fantastic Fest, as well as the 63rd San Sebastián Film Festival. Here are two new photos from one of the more intriguing-sounding dramas coming our way, featuring stars Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, and Elisabeth Moss.
