The Good Dinosaur

With Disney’s Big Hero 6 tearing up the box office, animation lovers may be wondering what’s brewing with Pixar. Well, the studio has just released a piece of concept art for its The Good Disnosaur!

“The story centers on Arlo, a teenage dinosaur who befriends a young human boy named Spot. The movie hit a snag in August 2013 when original director Bob Peterson was dismissed, which caused Pixar to push the animated adventure from its original May 30, 2014 release date all the way to November 25, 2015. Over the past year, new director Peter Sohn has been reworking the story, and while the basic premise remains the same, the filmmaker revealed to The Los Angeles Times that a lot has changed: ‘The heart of the story remains the same. It’s always been about this young dinosaur growing up. But the world itself has changed a lot. Nature has become a character.’ The Good Dinosaur comes to theaters November 25th, 2015 and stars Judy Greer, Neil Patrick Harris, Frances McDormand, Bill Hader, John Lithgow, John Ratzenberger, Lucas Neff, [and] Adam Stedman.”

Peanuts

Want more animation? Five stills and a trailer from Blue Sky Studios’ upcoming CG-animated Peanuts film have just been released. And while they obviously lack the purity of creator Charles Schulz’s classic pen-and-ink comic strip — and the beloved animated TV specials it spun off — they thankfully also lack the uncanny-valley-courting photorealism that’s marred other strip-to-screen efforts like 2011’s The Adventures of Tin-Tin. Check ’em out below. Director Steve Martino film lands on November 6, 2015 via Fox.

The Interview

With Seth Rogen and James Franco’s latest The Interview arriving on Christmas Day, folks might be curious to see a little more from the film. Thankfully, Sony’s just unleashed four featurettes, one for each of the film’s stars: Rogen, Franco, Lizzy Caplan, and Diana Bang.

“In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show ‘Skylark Tonight.’ When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.”

The Captive

Ryan Reynolds’ next film, the Atom Egoyan-directed psychological thriller The Captive, is now available on DirectTV and arrives in theaters on December 12th. But you can watch the film’s trailer below right now.

The Captive stars Reynolds “and The Killing’s Mireille Enos as a couple plagued by the unsolved disappearance of their young daughter Cassandra. Years later, mementos of Cassandra’s start mysteriously appearing and two detectives (Rosario Dawson and Scott Speedman) discover recent images of the girl online. Egoyan penned the script with David Fraser; Kevin Durand, Alexia Fast, and Bruce Greenwood also star.”

Rosamund Pike

Like Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike? How about Pacific Rim‘s Charlie Hunnam? You may soon get the opportunity to watch them making googly eyes at each other, since Pike is in talks to join Hunnam in Fox’s adaptation of The Mountain Between Us. “Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now) will direct the survival love story, which is based on Charles Martin’s novel about two people who survive a plane crash in the mountains. J. Mills Goodloe and Scott Frank wrote the script. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and David Reading are producing the film, which will shoot at the end of 2015.”
