Movie Morsels: Cameron Crowe’s ALOHA Trailer, First SPECTRE Footage, Plus Preview Guy Ritchie’s THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. and KINGSMAN

Director Cameron Crowe is back to put a lump in our throats and a laugh in our bellies with his latest romantic dramedy epic Aloha, featuring Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone. We’ve got the film’s first trailer for you in today’s Movie Morsels, along with the first for Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Plus, a new Kingsman: The Secret Service spot (with some excised film footage), and a red-band clip from Hot Tub Time Machine 2!

Spectre
spectre-1

Further supporting the crazy theory that Spectre is a fancy remake of A View to a Kill (in which James Bond invents snowboarding) is the first image from Spectre, and a glimpse behind-the-scenes in new footage of one of the film’s central action sequences from their shooting location in Austria released via the official James Bond Twitter account.

Spectre opens in theaters on November 6, 2015

Aloha

The Cameron Crowe of Jerry Maguire — i.e. the one who could do no wrong — appears to be back in Aloha, which, like the director’s most-loved works, looks like to blend equal parts drama, comedy, and romance into a thinking person’s feel-good film. It stars Bradley Cooper as a disgraced military contractor who falls for the Air Force officer (Emma Stone) assigned to watch over him in Honolulu. Cooper, of course, has the wounded thing down cold after Silver Linings Playbook and American Sniper, and the killer supporting cast — Rachel McAdams, John Kraskinski, Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin, and Bill Murray — could send this one into the entertainment stratosphere. Originally set for release last Christmas (when it would have brought us some welcome holiday cheer), Aloha now greets us on May 29th. Check out the film’s first full trailer below.

Kingsman: The Secret Service

Fox has a special Valentine’s Day trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service — or, as Samuel Jackson’s villain prefers to call it, “Valentine Day.” And this new trailer has a bit of dialogue in it you won’t see in the theatrical cut of the film (stick around until the end for Jackson’s remark about getting blood on his carpet). Kingsman, co-starring Colin Firth and Michael Caine and based on Mark Millar’s comic book The Secret Service, hits theaters this Friday, February 13th.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

And speaking of trailers for over-the-top English espionage thrillers… We’ve got you’re first look at director Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of ’60s spy-fi series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Starring Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill as secret agents Napoleon Solo (the American one) and Illya Kuryakin (the Russian one), U.N.C.L.E. debuts on August 14th.

Knights of the Round Table

bana

In other Guy Ritchie-related news, the director’s Knights of the Round Table has just secured its Uther Pendragon, better known as King Arthur’s father. Eric Bana will play the ill-fated ruler (played by Gabriel Byrne in John Boorman’s Excalibur), whose lustful appetites ultimately doom his son. Charlie Hunnam is set to play Arthur, while Astrid Berges-Frisbey will play Guinevere. Jude Law is reportedly in talks to play the film’s villain. In Arthurian lore, that villain is usually Arthur’s son Mordred, but Law looks a bit old for the part. In any case, Knights of the Round Table will whisk us away to Camelot on July 22, 2016.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Here’s one more goodie before we let you get on with your Thursday — a red-band clip featuring Christian Slater as the host of game show Celebrity Choozy Doozy and Craig Robinson as its hapless contestant — in director Steve Pink’s Hot Tub Time Machine 2, which lands in theaters on February 20th.
