While we’re all very excited about Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron opening this Friday, we can’t help but be hungry for any scrap of info on the next Avengers films––the Thanos-centric Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2––as the greedy little fans we are. So we’re happy to report some concrete new production info on what promises to be the end-all, be-all of superhero spectacle in today’s Movie Morsels. Along with that news comes the latest on Independence Day 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, the Poltergeist remake, and the live-action Death Note movie!

Wondering when Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War will start shooting? Chris Evans just revealed the production schedule for the two-part extravaganza in an interview promoting this week’s Avengers: Age of Ultron:

“We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks,” says the star, “and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September. Then I’ve got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don’t know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I’m creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.”

Avengers: Infinity War Part I is due on May 4, 2018, with Avengers: Infinity War Part II following on May 3, 2019.

After replacing the director of last summer’s hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, director Jonathan Liebesman, with David Green for the sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 producer Michael Bay now has a new Shredder in the form of The Wolverine star Brian Tee. Joining Tee will be the returning Megan Fox (April O’Neil) and Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick), along with Stephen Amell (Casey Jones) and Tyler Perry (Baxter Stockman). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 — which will also feature classic TMNT villains Bebop and Rocksteady — throws its pizza party on June 3, 2016.

Death Note

Death Note

It looks like the live-action Death Note movie finally has itself a director. The Guest and You’re Next helmer Adam Wingard has signed on for the adaption of the hit horror manga, which spawned an equally successful anime series, about a student who finds a notebook that allows him to literally write anyone he wants out of existence. Wingard replaces the previously announced Shane Black, and will work from the film’s revised script by Fantastic Four scribe Jeremy Slater. Before starting work on Death Note, Wingard will shoot another horror film this summer — Lionsgate’s The Woods.
