Movie Morsels: AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON’S First Character Poster, FROZEN FEVER Footage, and a First Look at FANTASTIC FOUR’s Mole Man!

The linchpin of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mr. Robert Downey Jr. himself, has just dropped the first character poster from Avengers: Age of Ultron, accompanied with a tease of more to come. But if your tastes run more towards singing snowmen than superheroes, we’ve also got a new advance look at Disney’s Frozen spinoff in today’s Movie Morsels, along with four new images of the heroes of the Fantastic Four (and a sneak peek at the villainous Mole Man), news on Will Ferrell’s next comedy, and more!

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Iron Man

After the latest, slightly cluttered Avengers: Age of Ultron poster, Disney and Marvel are going back to basics with the film’s latest promotional image and first character poster — of Tony Stark, tweeted by Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. with the promise of “a big announcement in 8 days.” We’re not sure what that announcement might be, but could Marvel announce Spider-Man’s appearance in the film? Stranger things have happened. But whatever the studio announces, we’ll probably get more character posters leading up to the announcement.

Frozen Fever

Yesterday Disney unveiled some new footage from its Frozen spinoff short Frozen Fever, directed by the returning Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and due out on March 13th, when it plays before the studio’s Cinderella. Check out what Olaf, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff have been up to below.

Fantastic Four

Want another look at what the title team members will look like in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot? Empire just got its hands on four exclusive images of Reed Richard, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, as played by Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan, respectively. Take note — the pic with Teller offers a peek at Tim Blake Nelson’s Harvey Elder, a.k.a. the Mole Man.

Director Josh Trank describes his film to the magazine as a “dark Amblin movie… There’s the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic. The opportunity is right there in the material. We’d rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page.” We’ll know if Trank’s approach works when Fantastic Four debuts on August 7th.

Funnyman Will Ferrell has just signed on to star in and produce The House for New Line. Written by Neighbors screenwriters, Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien. The film, which centers on “a married couple who lose their daughter’s college fund [and] team up with their neighbors to start an illegal casino in their basement to earn back the cash”, will mark Cohen’s directing debut.

Winter’s Knight

Santa Claus

Star Trek 3 writers Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne are teaming up with Sony to rewrite Winter’s Knight, a “Viking-mythology-tinged origin story of St. Nick and Christmas” based on Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s The Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus. The studio is hoping to sign Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales‘ Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg to direct.

Circus Mirandus

Circus Mirandus

Producer Scott Steindorff — whose Stone Village Productions was behind last summer’s Chef — is looking to have the next hit YA franchise. He’s just acquired the film and TV rights to Circus Mirandus, author Cassie Beasley’s first novel, due out in June from Penguin, with a second volume to follow next year. The publisher describes it as “Big Fish meets Peter Pan in this story of a boy, his grandfather, a mysterious circus, and the power of believing in magic.”

Nice poster, looks very intense. My expectations are to see as good movie as in 2012. However.. spider-man? I don’t think so, why do you thought about this character?.
