Movie Morsels: AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Posters, New JURASSIC WORLD Images, Dinklage Partners with Bale

While we’ve been keeping you posted on all the cinematic goings-on at this year’s SXSW, there was plenty of movie news happening elsewhere. And in today’s Movie Morsels, we fill you in; with the latest images from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic Word, the trailer for Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana’s latest, word on Peter Dinklage’s next project, and even a clip from one of the most entertaining films to debut at this weekend’s Austin film festival — The Final Girls.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Two new character posters from Avengers: Age of Ultron dropped over the weekend. Check out a bewitching Elizabeth Olsen and a dashing Aaron Taylor-Johnson as twin Avengers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

Is it just me or does Olsen look a lot like Kate Beckinsale in the above poster? In any case, director Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron will rock our worlds on May 1st.

Jurassic World

Want a better look at Chris Pratt’s team of trained velociraptors in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World? Universal’s debuted a new pic of the prehistoric predators, along with a new still of young stars Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson when they arrive at the titular dino-filled vacation destination. Opening on June 12th, the long-awaited sequel co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, Andy Buckley, and one helluva lotta dinosaurs.

The Final Girls

Among the most talked about genre films to debut at this month’s SXSW is The Final Girls, a horror comedy from director Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas). Featuring a cast of faves — including Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman, Adam DeVine, Thomas Middleditch, and The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev — the film concerns a high school student who finds herself and her friends transported into an ’80s horror film starring her own long lost mother. Here’s a clip from the film, which is currently looking for a U.S. distributor.

Mike Tyson Biopic

Martin Scorsese

According to Jamie Foxx, Martin Scorsese is poised to direct him when he plays Mike Tyson in a biopic about the boxing champ. This would mark Scorsese’s first boxing film since his 1980 masterpiece Raging Bull. No word yet on the project from Scorsese’s camp.

Infinitely Polar Bear

Our two favorite green-skinned Marvel heroes team up in a new trailer! Albeit in a considerably more earthbound adventure than we’d expect from Bruce Banner and Gamora… Actors Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana star in Sony Classics’ Infinitely Polar Bear, about a dad and husband trying to reunite with his wife. The only wrinkle is that Ruffalo is just a little, shall we say, emotionally stunted. The film arrives on June 19th.

Deep Blue Goodbye

Peter Dinklage

Game of Thrones superstar Peter Dinklage makes everything better. So it’s heartening to hear the actor is in talks to join Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in director James Mangold’s adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s Travis McGee detective novels. Also in negotiations is Transformers: Age of Extinction actress Nicola Peltz. The film finds Bale’s McGee working a case involving stolen sapphires. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dinklage “will play a mathematician who made a fortune thanks to an app and ends up as McGee’s sidekick.” While Peltz “will play a woman who acts older than she is, knows more about the sapphires than she lets on, hires McGee to find them and ends up on the wrong side of the torturer.” Shooting is expected to start in May.
