Mondo’s ARRIVAL Poster and Variant Will Break Your Heart (EXCLUSIVE)

Mondo’s ARRIVAL Poster and Variant Will Break Your Heart (EXCLUSIVE)

Please note: there are minor Arrival spoilers in this post—you’ve been warned!

Few recent films have ingratiated their way into our psyche quite like 2016’s Arrival has. Denis Villeneuve and Eric Heisserer’s adaptation of Ted Chiang’s 1998 short story, “The Story of Your Life,” was a masterstroke in so many ways, particularly in how it dealt with the perception of time and the courage of humanity to rise above its baser instincts and work together for the greater good of all people. (I mean is there a more relevant theme in 2017?) Which is probably why Mondo and artist Kevin Tong teamed up to create a truly beautiful homage to the only film that’s ever made linguistic analysis captivating, fascinating, and important.

Needless to say, we’re very excited to exclusively announce the new poster and its variant right here on Nerdist!

arrival-hello

Available for pre-orders starting on Thursday, February 16th (time TBD) at mondotees.com (you can follow @MondoNews for the on-sale announcement), Tong’s two posters manage to connect all the aforementioned dots in a single, stirring image. Fr0m inside the mysterious space ship, Amy Adams’ Louise Banks looks on as the window typically used to enclose the aliens Abbott and Costello instead shows her daughter Hannah playing in the water.

But don’t just take our word for it — take a look at them, and their details, below (and don’t forget: you can click and make them bigger)!
