Mondo Gallery Celebrates JURASSIC PARK with Dynamic Dino Art

The world of Jurassic Park is a terrifying one, sure, but also a beautiful one. Gorgeous, even. The lush setting of Isla Nublar is an ideal background for the second coming of dinosaurs–beasts that, for the most part, can be described as magnificent. The location, the characters, and the creatures are inspiring, and Mondo is celebrating the film and the upcoming Jurassic World with a new exhibit “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth,” which will open at Austin’s Mondo Gallery on June 12 and run through June 27.

It’s been 22 years since Jurassic Park made me hide under my blanket. I’ll never forget the awe and fear I experienced when I saw the film for the first time. It ended with the “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner falling around the feet of the Tyrannosaurus Rex and making quite the statement. But apparently not a strong enough one because Jurassic World has brought the theme park concept back again.

The exhibit will feature pieces inspired by the first attempt at a dino theme park and has quite the impressive line up of participating artists. The first reveal from the show is this slick and scary poster by Francesco Francavilla:
