Missed the STAR FOX ZERO Animated Short? Watch It Here!

Holy General Pepper’s fur!

The Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins animated short finally aired this week, and it was as fantastic as I predicted it would be. The project was put together by Nintendo in collaboration with Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell) and Wit Studio (Attack on Titan), to introduce gamers to the background of the upcoming title, Star Fox Zero. It features 14 minutes of epic dogfights, Fox McCloud being a total badass, and a weird lucky charm made up of General Pepper’s fur. Take a gander at the short above!

This is also a great way of introducing gamers to the first level in Zero. This animated short turned out great thanks to the talent attached to the project. All the animations were slick, and more importantly, the aerial combat was intense. We would definitely be into a Star Fox animated show.

Some of the game’s campaign, co-op, and amiibo functionality was sampled right after the short aired by the Nintendo Treehouse crew, so make sure to also check that out here. If you still want more Star Fox, check out all our coverage, including Star Fox: The Fur Awakens official trailer, right here.

What did you guys think of the clip? Would you watch more of this if it was turned into a show? Did this get you more pumped for Star Fox Zero? Which other Nintendo franchise is worthy of an animated short like this? Barrel roll your thoughts onto the comments section below!
