MINECRAFT Is Going Full 4K This Fall

Ch-ch-changes are coming to Minecraft pretty soon, ladies and gents. Microsoft dropped some big news regarding the block-building title that many in the community will surely appreciate. So allow me to dive right in.

The first bit of news to drop was that both the Xbox One and Switch versions of the game will be migrating to the Bedrock Engine. What does that mean to you? It means the following platforms will all allow Minecraft cross-play in Realms: Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, Windows Phone, iPhone/iPad, Android, Apple TV, Kindle Fire, Fire TV, Gear VR, and Oculus Rift. Let there be unity!

A community marketplace is also coming to consoles, adding even more possibilities to the ever-growing content available in the game. The biggest news of the day, however, is the announcement of Minecraft Super Duper Graphics pack coming this fall. That’s Minecraft in glorious 4K, playable on both the Xbox One and Xbox One X. One would argue that a game featuring blocks and voxel graphics doesn’t need the upgrade, but why not go all out on the 4K future?

This news shows Microsoft’s commitment to making an already massive experience even bigger. Cultivating the community is so important to this blocky universe.

What do you think about the unification of platforms? Is this a smart move on Microsoft’s part? What other changes do you want to make its way onto Minecraft? Don’t look a Ghast at the question–just build your thoughts in the comments section below.
