Michonne Takes On the Governor’s Right-Hand Man in This Deleted Scene from THE WALKING DEAD

The Walking Dead‘s fourth season saw Robert Kirkman’s zombie apocalypse epic reach new heights of suspense, tension, and character development, all three of which are offered in a new NSFW deleted scene from the show’s mid-season finale, “Too Far Gone.” The scene is one of several from the upcoming The Walking Dead: The Complete Fourth Season Blu-ray and DVD sets, but it’s especially welcome in that it offers us more of Michonne and Hershel (Danai Gurira and Scott Wilson) in the latter’s final moments. What happened to the two after they were captured by the Governor, before he presented them to Rick as his hostages? You can finally see for yourself by watching the clip from Entertainment Weekly now.

Yeah, I didn’t think our favorite samurai would let herself be taken that easily either. “Too Far Gone” was a monumentally important episode in Dead lore, so it’s nice to see even more of it on the season’s home video release. Due on August 26th, it also features extended versions of two episodes. Which should make a great season even greater…

Oh, by the way: are you wondering who that fellow is who plays Mitch, the Governor’s right-hand man? That’s actor Kirk Acevedo. His face should be pretty familiar to genre fans these days, having starred as FBI agent Charlie Francis in Fringe and the trigger-happy, short-tempered Carver in this summer’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. And it’ll become even more familiar when he stars in Syfy’s TV series adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s Twelve Monkeys, premiering January 2015.

Season 5 of The Walking Dead premieres on AMC this October.
