Michael Dorn Shared Details on His Proposed Captain Worf STAR TREK Series

It’s been a few years since we first heard that Michael Dorn, who played the Klingon officer Worf on seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation and four of Deep Space Nine (not to mention four Next Generation movies and the last original series movie, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as Worf’s grandfather) was pitching his own “Captain Worf” television series. Not much came of that news, and most assumed that Dorn had either dropped his pitch to CBS, the current rights holders of the property on TV, or they had flat out turned him down.

Well, not so fast; it looks like Dorn’s Captain Worf series is still something he’s pursuing. While it seems that the project is still far from being greenlit, Dorn has been providing some details about his proposed show in a series of interviews with The Cinema Source. Among those details is just what time period the show is to be set in, which is the most fascinating part- according to Dorn, the Captain Worf show would be set after Deep Space Nine but before Nemesis. What makes that interesting is that Nemesis came out thirteen years ago, and while Worf’s age can be covered by prosthetic make up, if they ever wanted to have any appearances from former Next Generation cast members like Patrick Stewart or Jonathan Frakes, it would be tough to convince anyone that they were nearly fifteen years younger.

Of course, CBS has not even confirmed that they’re in any kinds of talks for a Worf show, but with rumors circulating earlier this year that they were considering a return to television for the franchise in some form, timed to be announced for the show’s fiftieth anniversary next year, they could do far, far worse than a series featuring one the franchise’s most beloved characters.
