American Horror Story: Freak Show has just added another major television star to its already impressive roster: Emmy Award winner (and FX network alum) Michael Chiklis.
The star of The Shield will join the cast of AHS alongside Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, and Evan Peters in addition to a slew of other AHS regulars for the show’s fourth season. Chiklis’ involvement and a general description of his role were announced during the final night of PaleyFest this weekend. The actor will portray Bates’ ex-husband on the anthology horror-drama, this time set in Jupiter, FL during the 1950’s.
Little is known about Season Four with a few exceptions. In addition to the subtitle as well as the location, time frame, and returning cast, we also know that this will be Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange’s last season with the Ryan Murphy hit(s), and that she is playing a German character who manages one of the last freak shows in the U.S.
American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres on FX this October.
