Michael Bay Finally Reveals Plot Details For TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION

It’s been about a month since we last got any goodies from the latest sequel in Michael Bay’s robot fighting franchise, Transformers: Age of Extinction. Actually, up till this point, very little has been known about the plot other than it was a complete overhaul of the franchise with new human characters and, reportedly, the start of a new trilogy. But straight from the horse’s mouth, it seems we now have some facts to chew on.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the following was revealed by star Mark Wahlberg: “[The government] wants to wipe out all the Transformers, all the Autobots… Optimus has lost all faith in humankind, and I’m trying to convince him there is still good in the world and we need to work together.” Bay added, “He’s done good for earth, and he’s been f–ked over.”

In addition to the plot, Bay finally revealed the name and description of the gun face character seen in the trailer: “Lockdown is an interesting character. He travels the galaxy, he works for somebody else. And he’s here for one person, one alien, and then he’s out of here. So he doesn’t really want to take sides. The cause and balance of the galaxy is kind of messed up when different species play with different species. And that opens up a whole other gigantic world for Transformers.”

So is Lockdown this movie’s version of Galvatron? And if so, is that going to open us up to Unicron? Only time will tell on that one, as Bay isn’t revealing anything else, but he did say this new film will kick off a brand new trilogy in the franchise: “We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next one… I’m not necessarily sure that I’m doing [the others], but that’s what it’s meant for.”

And there you have it. It looks like we’ll have to wait till June 27th to find out what’s really up with the dinobots. Until then, enjoy this awesome photo of Grimlock breathing fire from Entertainment Weekly:

From the toys I see Galvatron should be in the movie. So Lockdown shouldn’t be that part but with Bay’s flicks who knows the storyline direction.
