Meltdown Comics Celebrates DOCTOR WHO with Free Art Exhibit

How many times has the Doctor saved the world, averted disaster, or otherwise touched people’s lives? Take into account eleven different incarnations in a career spanning 50 of our Earth years. The answer is “a whole lot,” and L.A.’s Meltdown Comics, the home of the NerdMelt Showroom, wants to pay tribute to the Time Lord Victorious with a month-long art exhibit of Doctor Who themed pieces.

Dubbed “The Doctor Is In: A Tribute to the Show,” the exhibition will showcase over 100 artists of several disciplines who all share an abiding love for the long-running sci-fi phenomenon. Artists like Jon Schnepp, Satine Phoenix, Dana Lechtenberg, and many, many more will deliver their unique takes on the series that’s reinvented itself a dozen times already.

The exhibit will run November 1st-23rd, 2013, and will be open during the store’s regular business hours. However, if you’re agreeable, you can come to a free kickoff party and reception tomorrow, November 1st, at 7:00 pm. Come, hang out, enjoy the art, mingle with fans and artists alike, and wear your multicolored scarves, fezzes, or 3D glasses without fear of being ostracized.

Walk right in to Meltdown Comics, 7522 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90046, 11am – 9pm daily and 7pm Friday, November 1st for the reception. Please come! Park your TARDISes outside, though.

And here’s a glimpse at some of the Amazing Art you’ll see!
