Next week, the first season of the Marvel Cinematic Universeâs first foray into television, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., hits DVD and Blu Ray, so of course what kind of fans would we be if we didnât being you a few goodies ahead of the September 9Â street date? A few months back, we showed you a great blooper reel that deputed at Comic-Con, and today we have an all new deleted scene between the cavalry herself, Melinda May, and the always lovable Jemma Simmons that will surely make you laugh, as well as question why it ever got cut out in the first place:
For a lot of season one, Agent May was keeping so many secrets and playing so many double roles that it became easy to forget how much of a comedic presence she could have. There were definitely moments, like when she dislocated her own wrist to get out of some handcuffs and save the team, but overall, May was mostly played straitlaced and serious throughout the season, which is why weâre happy to know that a scene like this, while ultimately hitting the cutting room floor, was considered for the series. It shows that the writers know the potential that exists with a character like Melinda, and with any luck, this is the kind of stuff weâll see more of heading into season two.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, September 23Â at 9/8c on ABC.
