Meet Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston’s POWER RANGERS Characters in New Clips

There’s a lot of good stuff playing in multiplexes right now, isn’t there? And there’s plenty more that’s still on the way! So we’ll help get you primed for it in today’s Movie Morsels, which features two brand new clips from the Power Rangers reboot, the latest on Warner Bros’ plans for The Matrix, and much, much more…

Power Rangers

We’ve been getting a lot of clips from the new Power Rangers movie lately focusing on its titular team of young superheroes. But what of the two adult stars who are joining the party? Prepare yourselves for some fresh footage of Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa and Bryan Cranston’s Zordon, each of which is featured in the beginning of the following Today Show video interviews. Both actors acquit themselves as well we’d hope in their roles, but I gotta especially hand it to Banks for actually finding a way of making Rita, well, repulsive! Albeit with the aid of some CG effects…

The Matrix

So it turns out that Warner Bros’ reboot of the Wachowskis’ Matrix saga isn’t a reboot after all. At least not just yet. Word on the streets is that the studio is apparently considering a couple of ideas, one of which is making a “Young Morpheus” prequel with actor Michael B. Jordan in the role that Lawrence Fishburne made famous. Well, it’s got to be better than Matrix Revolutions, right?!

The Spy Who Dumped Me

Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis are two of America’s leading comic actresses. They’re so charming in fact that I’m betting they can even spin gold out of the tired espionage comedy genre, which, with the exception of 2015’s Spy, hasn’t been all that funny since, oh, Mike Myers’ first Austin Powers movie. The two are currently in talks to star in director Susanna Fogel’s  The Spy Who Dumped Me, a film that would see them play “best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a spy.”

Alien: Covenant

Alien Covenant 4

If for some reason you’re not looking forward to Alien: Convenant, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you. Ridley Scott would like to make four more Alien movies following the upcoming second prequel to his original classic. Among these is the potentially titled Alien: Awakening, which Scott suggested to Fandango would fit somewhere between Prometheus and Covenant.

Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers The Last Knight

Hey, if you thought there was something familiar about just-released Transformers: The Last Knight trailer, you’re not alone. In fact, here are eight things the new Transformers trailer rips off from other movies.

Baby Driver

And finally today… While chatting with the cast of Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver at SXSW, we asked them to give us their perfect heist movie playlists. Here’s what they had to say!
