MEAN GIRLS, RAINBOW BRITE, and More Tattoos by Joaquin Molina

MEAN GIRLS, RAINBOW BRITE, and More Tattoos by Joaquin Molina

Until last week, I didn’t know I needed a Mean Girls tattoo in my life–not on my body, but in my life. I came to recognize this hole in my existence when Joaquin Molina of Arcanum Electric Tattooing sent me samples from his portfolio last week. His tattoo designs showcased a few characters I’ve never seen portrayed in ink before–including Regina George and her proclamation about cheese fries. Behold:

You have to admit that, “Whatever. I’m getting cheese fries,” isn’t a bad life motto. Eating cheese fries can occasionally be the solution to all your problems.

And look at this Rainbow Brite! I used to have a plush of her horse Starlite when I was a kid, and it was my favorite toy. I haven’t seen either of them featured in tattoos before.

See more of Joaquin’s work in the gallery below. You’ll find a beautiful Harry Potter tattoo featuring Dobby front and center, a Twin Peaks Double R Diner design, and more. If you’re local to Pueblo, Colorado, you can get information on booking with Joaquin on the Arcanum Electric Tattooing’s Facebook page.

Are you a tattooist with lots of pop culture-inspired ink in your portfolio, or do you have any geek themed tattoos? If so, please get in touch with me so I can highlight your tattoos in a future Inked Wednesday round-up. You can hit me up via email at [email protected]. Send me photos of your tattoos, and let me know the name of your tattoo artist if you have it.
