Hollywood screenwriter and past Nerdist Podcast guest Max Landis, can add “weird movie-trailer commentator” to his resume. He’s the newest contributor to the best 5-minute film school on the internet, Trailers From Hell!, on which filmmakers pack informative, funny, and incisive film history lessons into the time it takes to watch a trailer. The website has over 850 trailers now that cover everything from Citizen Kane to Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla.

For his first trailer, Max chose the four-and-a-half hour Japanese action-comedy, Love Exposure, of which we’ve never heard but can’t wait to eventually find somewhere. If everything he says about it is true, it’ll become a staple of movie nights everywhere. We can’t, of course, tell at all what the movie’s actually about from the trailer, even with the commentary, but that hasn’t stopped us in the past. Let’s hope Max does a bunch more of these so we can add even more obscurity to our film-watching repertoire.
