Marvel Universe LIVE! Brings “Epic” Superhero Story To The Stage

Burned out on Marvel comics yet? If not, a new touring experience has just been announced: Marvel Universe LIVE!, a show that will bring The Avengers and a host of villains to the stage in a whopping 85 cities. Dates ranging from 2014-2016 are already on the calendar.

The goal of the show is to tell a compelling story that makes fans feel like they’re part of the Marvel Universe. It will follow The Avengers (comprised of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, and Wolverine) as they travel around the globe searching for fragments of the Cosmic Cube. They run into trouble along their journey and must face foes such as Loki, Red Skull, Electro, and many more. Some female characters, including Black Widow, are featured on the show’s website even if they’re not listed in the press release. The group is, according to the release, the “the largest group of Marvel characters ever assembled in one production.”

A behind-the-scenes video reveals the work going into the event, and it looks like we’re in for cool stunts. Director Shanda Sawyer says, “Everything in this show is something that’s never been done”.

Marvel superheroes on stage with stunts and costumes? The only way to make it better would be to put it on ice. Will you be making plans to assemble your friends and see this traveling superhero extravaganza? Let us know in the comments.

Definitely adding this to my list of MUST SEE events. I was not sure about the premise until I watched the video – it looks really outrageous in all the right ways. Though, hopefully it will be more successful (and less accident prone) than Spiderman Turn Off the Dark…
