Control the Marvel Universe With an Infinity Gauntlet Mug

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will become very familiar with Thanos and his all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet when Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 finally arrives in theaters. But first, a more down-to-Earth version of the Infinity Gauntlet is coming out this month.

Entertainment Earth has unveiled its new 16 oz Infinity Gauntlet mug, which can slide over your hand as you use it for your coffee, your tea, or whatever your morning pleasure is. It may not hold the ultimate power that Thanos craves, but it’s affordably priced at $15.99.

The Infinity Gems predate the Infinity Gauntlet by two decades. In 1991, writer and artist Jim Starlin sent his signature villain, Thanos on a quest to eliminate half of the universe’s population as a tribute to his love for Death. (Keep in mind, Death is a personified character in the Marvel Universe.) Thanos stole each Infinity Gem from the Elders of the Universe and he combined their abilities with his Infinity Gauntlet, which allowed him to control Soul, Power, Time, Space, Reality, and Mind. All of the Infinity Gems are represented in the new mug from Entertainment Earth.

In the MCU, the Infinity Gems are known as the Infinity Stones, and four of them have already been found. The Time and Soul Infinity Stones will be featured in Marvel’s Phase Three films, and the early rumors has one of them showing up in Doctor Strange later this year. Even Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet has already appeared, at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
