Marvel Releases New Art Series for AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just turned the volume up to eleven. It’s going to be a bumpy ride for the remainder of the season, and Marvel is celebrating the unfolding story by launching an art project that ties into the show. Welcome to The Art of Level 7: Marvel has assembled top artists to create posters to accompany the final six episodes of the season, and the illustrations are more than just eye candy.

The posters provide a first look into the overarching themes of each episode and supposedly hold clues as to what’s ahead. You won’t have to worry about being spoiled, but you may be able to spot a piece of the puzzle. The first poster in the series was released yesterday; the piece titled “Turn, Turn, Turn” by Mike Del Mundo goes with the episode of the same name (it airs on Tuesday, 4/8). It features a maze with a rat and definitely parallels what Agent Coulson and his team are facing as they try to discover the identity of the Clairvoyant.

New posters will be released on Thursdays and will be available as “limited edition high quality prints.” You can buy “Turn, Turn, Turn” and future prints at the Marvel store.

This sort of tie-in is a clever bit of marketing, and if it’s successful, we’ll probably see more companies adopt a similar approach. Let us know how you feel about the art project in the comments.
