In Marvelâs Secret Wars, Doctor Doom has become a God after stealing the power of the Beyonders and heâs lording it over the remaining survivors of Marvel’s multiverse on a new Battleworld. Itâs the endgame of Jonathan Hickmanâs epic run that started with Fantastic Four and went into Avengers and New Avengers.
But before post-Secret Wars Marvel relaunches in an âAll-New, All-Differentâ way, Hickman is going to explore a more humorous side of Battleworld in the Secret Wars Too one-shot comic. For this special issue, Hickman will be joined by Sergio Aragones, Ryan Browne, Al Ewing, Rob Guillory, Kate Leth, Eric Powell, Declan Shalvey, Kyle Starks, Ramon Villalobos, and Britney Williams.
Marvel has also released Chip Zdarskyâs cover for Secret Wars Too, in which God Emperor Doom is rocking a Beyonder-style fro from Secret Wars II (the â80s version). Itâs basically a high school yearbook page, with some amusing notes about Professor X, She-Hulk, Beast, and Reed Richards.
âAfter the multiverse-destroying intensity of Secret Wars, we figured it might do everyone some good to blow off a little steam before we say goodbye to Battleworld,â explained Marvel editor Wil Moss. âJoined by none other than God Doom himself — Jonathan Hickman! — Jon Moisan and I have assembled only those with the funniest of funny bones to bring you the follow-up that you hadnât even had time yet to realize you desperately crave! Plus, câmon, how great is Chipâs cover??â
Secret Wars Too # 1 will be released in November, following the conclusion of Secret Wars.
