Marvel and Garage Magazine Unleash 3D App For Fashion Week (Exclusive)

Marvel and fashion are a match made in heaven. Comic books influence everything from cosplay to everyday looks, so for New York Fashion Week, Garage Magazine is collaborating with Marvel to bring a Heroic Augmented Reality experience to the world of fashion.

Supermodels become superheroes as Garage Magazine transforms them into Marvel’s most powerful women, bringing magazine covers to life and through their mobile app.

Five special edition covers feature Adriana Lima as She-Hulk, Karlie Kloss as Black Widow, Lexi Boling as Captain Marvel, Candice Swanepoel as Spider-Gwen and Cuba Tornado Scott as Thor.

Using the Garage Mag app available for free in the app store, look for the Garage “G” to unlock the covers. Readers can watch as these heroes come to life as 3D digital animations in comic book form. Watch as Captain Marvel rises from the light and She-Hulk smashes her way onto the scene.

Sana Amanat, director of content development and editor at Marvel Comics had this to say of the partnership:

“Over the past few years, female Super Heroes have been front and center at Marvel – from Jane Foster taking on the mantle of Thor, to Captain Marvel being celebrated in her own movie. Now, these leading ladies are having an incredible fashion moment with Garage Magazine. Reinterpreting our Super Heroes through these fashion magazine covers perfectly demonstrates what we believe about our characters – the idea that anyone can express their own unique identity and individualism.”

This intersection of technology and fashion gives comic book fans a unique way to experience their fandom. Check out an exclusive peek of these special Garage Magazine covers in the gallery below, available globally on newsstands now.
