“Where’s Luke?” It’s a question that’s been on the mind of Star Wars fans since promotion for Star Wars: The Force Awakens kicked into full gear. Mark Hamill has been absent from most of the promos, TV spots, and posters, but we’ve found him. Omaze put him to work on a busy corner in Hollywood. Hamill went undercover as a First Order stormtrooper and patrolled Hollywood Blvd. to talk to passersby about Force for Change.
The video is the latest in a series to promote Omaze’s newest Star Wars campaign. Harrison Ford surprised fans in the announcement video, J.J. Abrams and most of the cast (but not Hamill) told us about the charities involved in the second video, and now, we have Hamill decked out in stormtrooper armor for the first time since Luke attempted to rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star in A New Hope (look, he let her out of the cell, but she took it from there).
Hamill is hilarious and uber charming in the video, and I can’t help but wonder how many people are seeing this video and realizing that they met Mark Hamill. I hope the guy who snapped a selfie with Hamill figures it out.
If you’d like the chance to attend the world premiere of The Force Awakens in either Los Angeles or London and walk the red carpet with the cast, enter at Omaze. Funds raised go to fifteen different charities chosen by the cast, Abrams, and Kathleen Kennedy. You only have until December 4 to donate and get entries, so don’t delay.
Have you already donated to the Force for Change campaign? Is Mark Hamill in stormtrooper armor the best or the best? Talk to me in the comments.
