Mark Hamill To Make First Ever Appearance at Disney’s Star Wars Weekends

You never know which stars from the Star Wars films and animated series will show up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Star Wars Weekends. The guests change from year to year, and some make repeat visits (yes, they are hearty enough to withstand Florida’s humidity!). This year the event is going to be extra special, because Mark Hamill will be making his first appearance at the event on June 6-8.

Guests can interact with attending talent in a few ways. Every day of Star Wars Weekends, there’s a special Star Wars “Legends of the Force”-themed parade, and everyone rides through as part of a motorcade. If you miss the parade, you can check out a conversation with Hamill during a daily talk show. James Arnold Taylor (the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Star Wars: The Clone Wars) hosts the discussions, and given his skill at interviewing guests on the main stage at Celebration VI, everyone attending is in for a entertaining experience. Finally, most guests of Star Wars Weekends have scheduled signings.

Each of the events mentioned above do involve waiting in line. Just pretend it’s Comic-Con! Bring a book or e-reader, an extra battery for your phone, and bottled water with you. You can get even get crazy and talk to other Star Wars fans in line.

When I first saw the dates, my mind immediately went to Episode VII. Lucasfilm recently confirmed the movie will begin filming in May. Assuming Hamill will be part of the next chapter, it’s not unreasonable to think he could be wrapped by June or that he’s taking a weekend off to come to the parks.

Star Wars Weekends runs from May 16-June 15; Will you be attending? Let us know in the comments.
