MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. Character Posters Released

James Bond will not be Ian Fleming’s only spy taking on an acronymic group of villains this year, as the Guy Richie reboot of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. will be hitting theaters in August. Warner Bros. has recently released a series of character posters for the film to get the marketing train rolling on the new spy adventure. Each highlights one of the four main characters of the film as well as holds a colorful background, reflecting the 1960s style the film also boasts.

Based on the popular spy show from the 1960s, the film, set in 1963, will see the most recent Superman Henry Cavill paired with the most recent Lone-Ranger Armie Hammer as secret agents from America and the KGB respectively. The two must work together, begrudgingly, to stop an international criminal organization, headed by up-and-coming actress Elizabeth Debicki, who may have their hands on nuclear weapons. To do this, the two will need the help of a missing scientist’s daughter, played by Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander. With Guy Richie behind the camera, it seems we can expect the same mix of suspense, action, and laughs as we have seen in his Sherlock Holmes films, with a little less steampunk, and a little more pop art.

We can only hope with a veteran like Richie at the helm, and a cast of talented actors like they have, the film will hopefully fair better than the Get Smart reboot from a few years back. Let us know what you think of the posters, and if you plan on seeing The Man From U.N.C.L.E., in the comments below!
