If youâre a fan of video game music on YouTube, thereâs a good chance that youâve heard of Malukah. Sheâs a musician who has a significant fan following thanks to her covers of songs from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dragon Age: Origins, The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and several other franchises.
Earlier this week, Malukah released an original song called âRise from the Dark,â which pays tribute to Bungieâs video game series, Destiny. Unlike most tribute songs, Malukah has the permission and the blessing of Bungie for her latest effort. Malukah wrote and performed the lyrics for âRise From The Dark,â but the music itself comes from the Destiny soundtrack by Marty O’Donnell, Mike Salvatori, C. Paul Johnson, and Paul McCartney.
In Malukahâs notes for âRise from the Dark,â she identifies the following Destiny music tracks that she sampled in her new song:
Verse: 01 The Traveler
Chorus: 08 The Last Array
Instrumental: 15 Excerpt 1 from The Rose + 37 End of the Line
Bridge: 37 End of the Line
End of Bridge: 44 All Ends are Beginnings
Outro: 01 The Traveler
âI’ve been wanting to make a tribute song for this game for such a long time, and I’m so happy to finally share it,â wrote Malukah on her YouTube page.
In addition to her popular cover songs, Malukah has provided music for The Elder Scrolls Online, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and The Banner Saga. For more music by Malukah, check out her YouTube channel and her official home page.
