Bored with the default voice on your GPS? Need something a little more… muscular? Not like Schwarzenegger muscular, but like former football player turned actor and sometimes game show host muscular?
Well, besides being very, very specific in your GPS needs, you’re also in luck: buff Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews has lent his voice to the Waze app, meaning now you too can get directions from Sgt. Terrence Jeffords.
Nope, let’s tweak that a little: now you can get your point to point directions from President Camacho himself, Terry Crews. Yeah, that’s better.
To navigate with the Prez, update the Waze app, and under voice language, select “English (US) – Terry Crews.â€
The second season of the Golden Globes and Emmy-winning Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air on Fox September 28. If that’s not enough Terry Crews for you, the actor recently made an appearance in The Expendables 3, and he’ll play boxer Joe Louis in the Montgomery, Alabama episode of Drunk History. Oh, and he’s also recently landed the gig as the new host of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire – the guy keeps busy.

If you can connect your phone to your computer and get access to the filesystem, the files are probably still there. Look under \waze\sound. You can rename the “eng_terry_crews” folder to “eng_randy” (one of the other English-speaking voices) and can access it by selecting “Randy” as your voice. Someone else taught me this trick to regain access to the Kevin Hart voice.

Waze has removed Terry Crews voice. I’m utterly heartbroken. His enthusiasm and energy have had me smiling for the last two months. I didn’t know that Waze deletes these celebrity voices after a short time. Booooooooooooooo.
