“Make it So” with this Catchy CAPTAIN PICARD Remix

Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Enterprise, as played by the estimable Sir Patrick Stewart, was simply the greatest of all six of the Star Trek captains to date (yes, I counted Captain Kirk twice. He’s played by two different people after all). Nothing against the other captains or anything, and all due props of course to William Shatner’s Captain Kirk for breaking the mold on the original series, and to the highly underrated Avery Brooks as Captain Sisko on Deep Space Nine (and even Kate Mulgrew as Captain Janeway on Voyager, although I’d probably follow her character Red on Orange Is the New Black before I’d take orders from Janeway. I’m just sayin’).

Having said all that though, Captain Picard is simply the man: explorer, archaeologist, Shakespeare enthusiast, negotiator, and tactician — Jean Luc-Picard is the definition of Renaissance Man. People are still freaking out about when he was taken by the Borg and turned into Locutus, and it’s been twenty-five years!

Now the British group Eclectic Method has gone and taken some snippets of Picard’s line readings, mostly from the first couple of seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and turned them into this odd, yet very catchy, little techno remix.

Eclectic Method has also done some awesome remixes of geek favorites like Ghostbusters, The Wizard of Oz, and several Star Wars. My favorite though? Their Wolf of Wall Street Chest Thump Remix, which is just brilliant. In the meantime, enjoy their tribute to Captain Picard, and try to not have “I’m the Captain, what’s happening?” repeat in your head all day long.
