Majora’s Mask Recreated with a Chainsaw

What do you get when you combine The Legend of Zelda and a chainsaw?  YouTuber and chainsaw extraordinaire Griffon Ramsey has taken her wood-modeling skills to the nerd world and recreated an epic, stylistic, and full-sized Majora’s Mask made out of wood. According to the video displayed below, the odd mask from one of the weirder games in the Zelda series was highly requested and she had finally decided it was time with the recent re-release of Majora’s Mask on Nintendo’s 3DS.

Videos on her channel are proof of just how talented Ramsey is, so it is no surprise that she was able to recreate this iconic fear-inducing mask. She begins by choosing the right wood to begin the project, shaping the wood using a stencil, and then cleverly using a projector to project the face onto the piece so that she could draw on the face for chainsaw carving after. Just like the video states, leave this to the professionals.

Looking like something straight out of a horror film, the outcome is absolutely incredible — so much attention to every detail. Every nook and cranny is there making it look like you could just rip it straight out of the new rendition from the 3DS. The only thing that would make this mask better would be if we could actually wear it or put it on a life-sized Skull Kid.

If you are interested, Ramsey has also recreated Groot, My Little Pony characters, and even Elsa from Disney’s film Frozen. This lady is a magician with a chainsaw.
