Harry Potter and the Cursed Child excitement has taken flight like a hippogriff among Potterheads the world over, clamoring to return to the wizarding world we muggles have come to know and love. And while your Floo network may not be connected to that at the London theater the production is calling its home, these 25 new images from the production will hopefully reignite the magic of Hogwarts and the wizarding world being brought to life with practical, onstage effects.
Needless to say there are some potential visual spoilers in the images and write-up below, so proceed at your own risk!
Split into two parts, the play is meant to be experienced either as a matinee and then evening show, or seeing it on consecutive nights. While there is a giant team of people in charge of the costuming, set design, and illusions, the play itself is based on a short story written by J.K. Rowling, with the play’s book written by Jack Thorne. And the music is downright magical, too, being written and arranged by Imogen Heap (basically an electronic witch in her own right).
So while these images might only serve to give you more Cursed Child FOMO, they are kind of amazing and exhilarating to behold. And yes, these photosâespecially that one with Harry Potter talking to Dumbledore’s portrait, or pictures of grown-up Harry, Ron, and Hermoine laughing togetherâwill give you some serious Potter feels. Be warned, Potterheads.
Update: Pottermore has just revealed that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is in talks to come to the States… specifically to Broadway!
