Madonna says she almost never allows her children to watch television, but someone in the Ciccone household has clearly been gobbling up some Game of Thrones lately, judging from pics she just posted on her Instagram account. Her Madgesty donned a bit of Daenerys Targaryen cosplay for a recent Purim party, probably hosted at one of the many Kabbalah Centers she frequents.  For those not in the know, Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire. It is celebrated today in some circles with costume parties. The Queen of Pop* channeled the Mother of Dragons pretty well, I’d say, especially since she’s almost fifty-six years old, although no doubt with the help of Photoshop and some of those wonderful Instagram filters.

She also seemed to be channeling a little bit of American Horror Story: Coven at the Grammys recently, as on the red carpet for that event she looked to be challenging Jessica Lange for the title of the next Supreme Witch. And then during the actual Grammy performance, she looked kind of like Boss Hog from The Dukes of Hazzard. Maybe someone has discovered the joys of television in her later years?

* Yes, she is still the Queen of Pop. She is still the biggest selling female artist in the world by a significant margin, and the fourth biggest artist period behind only Michael Jackson, Elvis and the Beatles. Radio’s current crop of pop tarts would have to sell something like double to triple what she did to even come close. So eat it, haters.
