MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Stuntwoman Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Photos

Have you seen Mad Max: Fury Road yet? Well, why not?! WITNESS! If you are not sure whether or not you should go and see this movie yet, we might have something to help you out. Esquire reports that over the course of Fury Road’s 8-month shoot, stuntwoman Dayna Grant, who filled in for Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, was snapping pictures behind the scenes. The New Zealand native was in the thick of it for the most amazing and dangerous parts of the film, and even documented one of those moments from inside the flaming War Rig while it was happening! Furiosa was one tough lady already, but its cool to see how much of that was thanks to Dayna as well as Charlize.

Dayna and her prosthetic bionic arm went to hell and back during filming. For a film like Fury Road and a director like George Miller, it takes a unique mixture of guts and craziness to get mixed up in some of these situations. While the film has its share of computer-generated effects and speed ramped film to give a nice polish to everything, the explosions, crashes, and jumps were all done practically. Dayna’s photo diary offers more than enough proof of that. In a day and age where CGI rules Hollywood, these stunts, shots, smashes, and crashes are enough to warrant a second viewing of the film just to appreciate the technical skill and utter insanity behind them. Honestly, Fury Road is the kind of movie that doesn’t need an excuse for multiple viewings, but just in case you did need one, you’re welcome.
