MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Inspires Shiny and Chrome Heavy Metal Song

I don’t know if I will ever stop writing about Mad Max: Fury Road. I have covered so many different things connected to the film that it makes me wonder if even Star Wars Episode VII will be enough to have me stop raving about this film. It is that kind of love and, dare we say, obsession that has led to fans all over creating their own ways to pay homage to the film. One such fan is Gavin Dunne, who has turned his love of movies and video games into a lucrative and well-received project known as Miracle of Sound. Gavin’s newest release, based on Fury Road is the song “Road Rage.” Go ahead and listen above.

From the opening chord progression, followed by the swelling percussion under it, Dunne’s song immediately evokes Junkie XL’s soundtrack for the film, and the pulse pounding trip into the wasteland immediately comes to life. Mixing a driving (pun intended) hard rock/heavy metal sound with an epic orchestral backing truly captures the essence of the film as a more-than-fitting tribute.

Dunne’s Miracle of Sound project has gained him plenty of attention across the internet from fans, but also from developers of the games he has used as inspiration. It has even led to his work being used in promotions for established names from Mass Effect 3 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to Watch Dogs and Wasteland 2. Hopefully this ode to Max and Furiosa’s journey makes its way to George Miller himself.
