We don’t know if Keyboard Cat is still active, but if he needs a vocalist, we may have found one. Luna is an 11-month-old rescue cat in Bucharest, Romania, and she collaborated with her owner Razvan Alexandru on a back-and-forth that is apparently named after the cat.
Alexandru sings lines about how Luna is a beautiful, loving, picky, cat who likes to eat, to which Luna responds in more of a spoken-word style, mostly letting out simple meows, which Alexandru has translated on-screen.
âShe is Luna, the Moon. She sings for sailors and lovers. And now she came into my life to sing to me,â Alexandru said.
According to a Facebook photo album last updated a couple months ago, Luna is currently up for adoption and would thrive in a home that already has a cat. However, it seems like it would be tough for Alexandru to part with his famous singing partner now.
While we are enchanted by Luna, there are actually cats out there who don’t have as strong a stage presence, but are far more capable vocalists. For instance, there’s Sylvester, who actually has a sort of operatic baritone voice and can really sustain a note. He seems more camera-shy than Luna, but with some more confidence, the two could make a… purrfect… duo.
If we’re really stretching our definition of what a singing cat is, there is a video of a bunch of them covering Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, so we’ll just leave that down here for you.
