Make Luke’s Coffee Cake from the New GILMORE GIRLS Cookbook (Exclusive)

The Gilmore Girls revival is now only a month away, and after yesterday’s new trailer dropped, we absolutely cannot wait to cosy up on the couch with some coffee and a pile of snacks to binge-watch all four episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. And whether you’re wrapping up your rewatch (or first watch!) of the original series or just prepping for your viewing party Thanksgiving weekend, we have just the recipe for you. Yes, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Lorelai and Rory-inspired cookbook, Eat Like A Gilmore: The Unofficial Cookbook for Fans of Gilmore Girls is finaly a reality… so let’s get to eating!

Stars Hollow foodies can choose between recipes from Luke’s Diner, Sookie’s Kitchen, Emily’s House, or a Town Favorite. But there’s one recipe that stood out from the crowd and hit us straight in our Mallomar shaped-hearts: the coffee cake from Luke’s diner.

We have the exclusive first look at Luke’s Coffee Cake recipe, a.k.a. the recipe that he served to Rory on the morning of her sixteenth birthday. Even before Luke and Lorelai finally got together, he was always a huge part of the Gilmores’ lives, so this moment is a special one for fans of the series.

Though the coffee cake looks simple, the recipe is warm and comforting, just like a late night walk around the town square. First off, it has coffee right there in the name, so how can you go wrong? It’s also a grand gesture from Luke, which in and of itself is a cause for celebration. This streusel-topped cake is easy to make and a sturdy start to a morning. What better way to kick off the morning than with cake and a cup of coffee?
