For Star Wars Day this year (May the 4th, but you knew that), Lucasfilm has teamed up with CBS’ The Big Bang Theory for a special Star Wars-themed episode.
They’re going all in, too. Special effects technicians from Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) are making a version of Dagobah for the event. Since Sheldon (Jim Parsons) will be going through a journey guided by his mentor Professor Proton (Bob Newhart) in the episode, I’m guessing Sheldon could visit the memorable Dark Side cave on the swampy planet Yoda called home.
ILM also brought props for filming, and no Star Wars event would be complete without lightsabers. Newhart, who had to be brought up to speed on the Star Wars universe, even gets to wield one. As for the rest of the gang? They’ll be donning appropriate t-shirts for the occasion and Star Wars decor will appear more than usual around the set.
“The Proton Transmogrification” will air on Thursday, May 1. Will you be tuning in?

Worst show ever. Have no idea why this totally unfunny show is so popular.
It’s just a common lame show about human relationships, but ILM is enough reason to pay attention. So, yea, I’ll watch.
