Liv Goes Fratboy in First IZOMBIE Season 2 Trailer

There are some spoilers ahead for iZombie season one. If you’re not up to date on The CW’s refreshing take on zombies then stop reading now and just enjoy the trailer!

The new iZombie season two trailer has been released by The CW…and it’s apparently mastered the art of telling fans very little about what’s actually going on in the series. Last season’s finale left a lot of loose ends for Liv Moore (Rose McIver), a relatively “normal” zombie at the heart of the show. But the only lingering thread addressed in the trailer is the reemergence of Blaine (David Anders), Liv’s ex-zombie nemesis.

Chris Roberson and Michael Allred created the iZombie comic book, which is only loosely adapted in the TV series by Veronica Mars veterans Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. Thomas and Ruggiero-Wright were the ones who added the police procedural to Liv’s life — she solves murders with her brain-eating-induced visions. And they also came up with a surprisingly engaging storyline for the first season.

Notably missing from the first season two trailer is Major (Robert Buckley), Liv’s ex-fiancé who recognized the threat of Blaine’s zombies and went on a one-man war against them. (Liv infected Major to save his life before using an experimental cure on both Major and Blaine to restore their humanity.)

Also MIA is Peyton (Aly Michalka), Liv’s best friend who had the eye-opening experience of seeing Liv go full-zombie. Peyton hasn’t been seen since the penultimate episode of season one. One of the other unresolved cliffhangers that the season two trailer doesn’t even touch is the fate of Liv’s brother, Evan (Nick Purcha). Evan was badly injured in an explosion, but Liv refused him a life-saving blood transfusion because it would be infectious.

What we do get to see in the trailer is Max Rager CEO Vaughn Du Clark (Steven Weber) tell someone that there are zombies living among us. And Liv’s friend, Ravi (Rahul Kohli) becomes a victim of a fratboy-inspired prank by Liv after she ate the brain of an actual fratboy.

The CW will premiere iZombie season two on Tuesday, October 6.
