Listen to Beck’s Newest Single, “Gimme”

Have you noticed a profound lack of Beck in your life recently? Well, there’s a good reason for that — the singer-songwriter has been busy preparing not one, but two new albums and preparing for his intensive Station to Station tour with disco’s answer to Werner Herzog, Giorgio Moroder, and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti.

According to Rolling Stone, the first album is a spiritual successor to 1994’s acoustic-laden One Foot in the Grave, and the second album is “the proper follow-up to 2008’s Modern Guilt.” Judging by the layered, electronic complexities of “Gimme”, the third standalone single Beck has released this year, it won’t be appearing on Two Feet in the Grave, but it has a definite Guero-era vibe to it and plenty of xylophone that makes it endlessly replayable, provided you’re in the mood for classic Beck weirdness.

What do you think of “Gimme”? Are you looking forward to Beck’s new work? What kind of music coverage would you like to see on the site? Let us know in the comments below or hit me up on Twitter.
