Lin-Manuel Miranda Led a Star-Studded Broadway CARPOOL KARAOKE With James Corden

When you aren’t all that comfortable getting around New York and you need help from someone that absolutely knows what it takes to get to the Tony Awards, who better to ask to be your guide there than Lin-Manuel Miranda? And once you have him in the car, I mean, it would be criminal not to throw on some (show)tunes and hope he will join in for a little Carpool Karaoke.

We first came across this latest edition of the car-singing segment from The Late Late Show at IndieWire. It wasn’t just the star and creator of Hamilton that made this latest automotive singalong with James Corden such a Broadway affair though; the two of them were joined by veteran Broadway star Audra McDonald (currently starring in Shuffle Along), Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson (currently in Fully Committed), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Jane Krakowski (She Loves Me).

Corden, who is hosting the Tony Awards on Sunday night, June 12, and his talented road trip partners did exactly what you’d expect from a bunch of musical lovers getting together—they sang the hell out of a bunch of classic Broadway tunes like their lives depended on it.

After a Hamilton medley of sorts from Corden and Miranda, the five sang “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” from Jersey Boys, “Seasons of Love” from Rent (of course), and for their finale they ended with  a big, rousing rendition of “One Day More” from Les Miserable (double of course).

We just hope the actual Tony Awards are as entertaining.

Which song would you have liked to have heard them sing? Tell us in the comments below.
