It is becoming abundantly clear by now that Europe and Japan get all of the best limited edition consoles. Just last week, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward themed PlayStation consoles were announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia.
Now, it look like it is Europe’s turn, as a sleek-looking red Metal Gear Solid V PS4 was just revealed for the European region. The system, which will be available for Europe, Australia and New Zealand, is slated to release alongside Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain September 1st.
With MGS V’s release a little under three months away, and E3 a mere six days from now, this announcement couldn’t have come at a better time. As you’ll see in the image above, the console will sport a black and deep red body with gold accents — inspired by Snake’s bionic arm. The dual shock 4 is a metallic gray (resembling Snake’s firearm) and features the unit emblem of the Diamond Dogs. Both the 500 gigabyte system and the controller will come bundled with the day one edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Additionally, Sony also announced another bundle that come with the classic jet black PS4, Dualshock 4 and the day one edition of the game. You won’t be getting the fancy red system in this bad boy, but it is another option for those looking to upgrade. Both the red and black systems feature 500 GB of storage space and will be available the same day as the stand-alone game. Sony also released several new MGS V screenshots, which you can check out in the gallery below.
