Lifetime’s THE LOTTERY’s First 10 Minutes are a Safe Bet

With Comic-Con less than a week away, it’s hard to imagine anything new popping into our consciousness right now. But sometimes, when you least expect, something can come along that has the potential to surprise you. That’s what we have for you today as Lifetime – yes, that Lifetime – has unveiled the first ten minutes of its new sci-fi drama, The Lottery, and before we say anything more, we recommend you give it a look:

On the very likely chance you have no idea what you just watched, The Lottery is a drama from one of the writers of Children of Men. Like the film, the series is set in a world where women have lost the ability to get pregnant and no child has been born in the last six years. However, things take a turn when Dr. Alison Lennon (Marley Shelton) and her team manage to fertilize the first viable embryos since the crisis began. But, as with all good dystopian science fiction, finding the answer to the problem only creates many more problems for the answer finder.

This new drama shows a lot of potential, and from a theme perspective, it definitely feels like something that could fill that gaping hole in our hearts left from the end of Orphan Black’s latest season. For our money, it’s definitely worth a look if you’re willing.

The Lottery premieres this Sunday at 10/9c on Lifetime.
